Strategic Location
|
The Port of Montevideo, with a hinterland of 700.000 square kilometer, is located at the mouth of the Paraguay – Paraná Riverway, in the center of a region of over 200 million consumers with the highest average per capita income in Latin America.
The country’s legal framework allows importers and exporters to store, process, add value and distribute or receive products to and from any part of the world, using this free port located at the main access point to the south of America.
The interoceanic routes connecting with Europe and the East Coast of the United States come together in Montevideo with the routes coming from the Far East and South Africa. This meeting point is ideal for transshipment of cargo between these routes. A large network of maritime, river and land transport offers the possibility of quick distribution of cargo to the main international markets.
