Container maintenance and repair

Empty containers received at TCP are sent to our empties yard for storage. The container is first inspected to verify that it is not damaged and that it is still water tight. We also inspect the cooling system of refrigerated containers to check that it is working properly.
When the container is in good conditions it is sent to the storage yard. If it is damaged, it is repaired before it is stacked and stored.
The increasing activity in the Port of Montevideo has caused a great development of container maintenance and repair activities, which were practically non-existing before 2001. Today Uruguay inspects and repairs (pre-trip inspection) most refrigerated containers used to export goods to Southern Argentina, and part of the reefers sent with exports to Chile.
