Katoen Natie has been active in Uruguay since the 90’s, mostly investing in logistics companies. In 2001 the group acquired 80% of the shares of Terminal Cuenca del Plata, the company specifically created by the Government to manage and operate the specialized container terminal in the Port of Montevideo, becoming a partner in this corporation with the Port Authority (ANP) and through them, with the Uruguayan State.
